Night-Time Photography- Shooting in the Dark 11/21/09

Great workshop and fun time Nov. 21st. Bit cold but the results were great; bit of moisture in the air for refraction of light and yet not too much to become fog. Click here to see some of the attendees images.

November 21st. 6-9pm

Once the sun goes down, most put their camera away. But for many it’s a whole new world: tripods, cable release and long exposures. Yielding unique images and some very fun play with light. Learn some tips and tricks of taking photos at night:

- painting with light

- multiple strobe

- intro to High Dynamic Range (HDR) photography

- and a unique vision of shooting in the dark

Professional photographer, and CAworkshops.com Executive Producer, Jeff Burkholder will be conducting this workshop The location is still being determined (most likely Old Sacramento).

Items to bring and have for this workshop:

- small flashlight

- warm clothing

- comfortable shoes

- tripod

Handcoloring on digital prints with Diane Poinski

Time’s running short. If you’re wanting to learn how to hand color on digital prints with international artist Diane Poinski, you better sign-up now.

This workshop will introduce you to the art of hand coloring black and white inkjet prints.

The day will include a brief history of the hand colored b & w photograph, an overview of different materials including papers, tools and media that can be used, and a demonstration using soft pastels with various tools.

Diane Poinski’s work has been sold internationally and she’s shown in numerous gallery shows. Her traditional hand-coloring techniques create one-of-a-kind artworks. Her thousands of hours of research and knowledge will fill you with creativity and skills that will transform your photos into masterpieces.
