I was born, raised and have lived in Sacramento my whole life. That’s not to say that I haven’t “been around”. I have traveled much of the world (not nearly enough!) but Sacramento is my home.

As a child I never wanted to be anything except an artist. My very supportive parents had me in art classes then came Jr. high, high school and college where I continued to draw, paint and sculpt… art is part of who I am.

At 16 my cousin moved in with my family. She introduced me to photography and I haven’t stopped taking pictures since!

As a college student, majoring in photography, I got a job at Lightwork (a photographic store). I learned so much about the art, craft and (reluctantly, at first) the technical aspects of photography.

When that shop closed, my cousin and I opened a new store in the same location. We built an incredible environment where pros and amateurs alike could come for equipment, supplies and knowledge.Thru our expertice, gallery and workshops we created a unique place where people could learn, network and get enthused.

After almost 20 years in the same location we had to close our beloved shop. The economy and numerous burglaries forced us to say good-bye to our community. What I miss the most is the people and being a part of helping others achieve their goals. I teach part-time at Sierra College, and I love being a part of the photographic community, which is why as Executive Director of CAworshops.com I feel that we can help others have the same passion I feel about the art and craft of photography. I always learn more about myself and my art.
